National Freedom Front alleges attempts are made to release Terrorists charged with serious crimes


The National Freedom Front alleges that attempts are been made to release few frontline members of the LTTE responsible for serious crimes under the pretext of releasing Political Prisoners.

Leader of the NFF Wimal Weerawansa issuing a statement had said that such suspects who are released may be used to testify against Armed Forces at the proposed Hybrid Court.

Meanwhile, speaking at the Cabinet Press briefing recently, Joint Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senarathna stated that there are no more Political prisoners in the country.

Also, Leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna Dinesh Gunawardana stated that those arrested over acts of terrorism were not Political Prisoners.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Democratic Party Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka stated that justice should be meted out to the detainees.
