
Draft bill proposing to increase private sector salaries to be presented to Cabinet today

The draft bill proposing to increase private sector salary by 2500 rupees is scheduled to be presented to Cabinet today.
Labor and Trade Union Minister W.D.J. Senevirathna told our news team that the proposed draft bill, after Cabinet approval, would be presented to parliament.
The proposal to increase the private sector minimum wage upto 10 thousand rupees is also included in the new draft bill.
The minister also said that the Cabinet would be informed about the progress of the discussions which was held in the past with regard to the 2500 rupees salary increase for private sector and the decisions taken towards the same matter.
