Funds forwarded for the elimination of landmines


The Japanese government has agreed to forward funds for the humanitarian operation of eliminating landmines which is in operation under the Japanese government in the north of Sri Lanka. Japan expressed their willingness to forward funds based on the Project for Ground Level Human Security. The amount of donation will be $811 311(about Rs108).

Japanese ambassador Kenichi Suganuma and Program Manager of HALO Trust Demian O’Brian signed the treaty today (13th) at the Japanese Embassy in Colombo.
