The solution for trash problem in Ampara paused

Minister of Primary Industries Daya Gamage instructed the officers to resume the compost project which was in operation in Buddhangala, Ampara which is currently paused, within a week.

The minister said this while engaged in a tour of the area this (13th)aftrenoon according to a complaint received by locals.

The Urban Council of Ampara disposes the trash in Ampara and suburbs to a land in Buddhangala.

In order to prevent the discomfort experienced by locals as well as to minimize the hazard on the environment, an NGO initiated this project about an year ago. Yet the project has currently halted due to lack of proper maintenance after it was taken over by the Ampara Urban Council.
