A proposal to the government by the Joint Opposition

The Joint Opposition has decided to make a proposal to the government in order to provide relief to farmers.

The Opposition says the government can use the funds it saves due to the decreasing oil prices in the world market to provide relief to local farmers.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo this morning, MP Bandula Gunawardana said the joint proposal would be submitted to the President as well as the Finance Minister.

Meanwhile, MEP leader Dinesh Gunawardana told the media that the government has not tabled a true copy of the resolution adopted by the UNHRC in Geneva as yet.
