Government Services United Nursing Union chairman Venerable Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero said that the nurses of his union will keep away from medical administration from today.
The reason for this is the inaction for properly implementing the circular the Health Secretary had issued on 18th last month.
Accordingly Government Services United Nursing Union Venerable chairman also said that from today the nursing staff will sever themselves from medical administration and resort to self-administration.
Expressing his views about the action he also stated that this would be taken as a result of the non-implementation of the said circular, Government Services United Nursing Union chairman Venerable Murutthettuwe Ananda Thero stated that his union will stay away from administration duties.
All Island Nursing Union Chariman Gamini Kumarasinghe said that taking trade union action at a time when a number of crises have taken place in the Health Sector without solving them through discussion would aggravate the problem.
