The Avent Garde Board of Directors has decided to complete paying the dues for services received from Rakna lankaa by a 910 million rupee payment within the next 10 months.
Rakna lankaa Accountant Prasaad Indika informed this when giving evidence before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Fraud and Corruption yesterday.
On this occasion the Rakna lankaa Accountant said further that although his company had paid profit shares for two years from 2009, it had run at a loss from then onwards.
Former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa came before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Serious Fraud and Corruption once again yesterday to give a statement with regard to the affairs of Rakna lankaa.
A Company Director Major General Paalitha Fernando also appeared before the Commission yesterday.
Meanwhile cabinet spokesman Minister Rajitha Senaratne said yesterday that the President had ordered a full probe into the Avant Garde vessel that had reached the Galle harbour with a cache of firearms.
When the navy inspected the vessel on request to enter the Galle harbour on the 5th of October, it was confirmed that there were firearms in the vessel.
Although the Company had informed that there was a Sri Lankan captain in it, it had not been revealed that the vessel also contained firearms.
According to the Maritime Traffic web-site the AvantGarde vessel had set sail on the 10th of September from Sudan.
