President seeks UN assistance for development projects


President Maithripala Sirisena held discussions with the officials of the United Nations Development Programme yesterday on UN assistance for development projects in the island nation.

The President speaking to the UNDP officials who met him at the Presidential Secretariat said the relationship between Sri Lanka and the United Nations' Organization was strengthened as a result of the discussions he had with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon during the UNGA sessions.

During this discussion, attention was paid on the required facilities for drinking water projects in Sri Lanka.
