Flash floods on French Riviera kill 17 people

Seventeen people died and four more were missing after violent storms and flash floods wreaked havoc on the glitzy French Riviera towns of Antibes, Nice, and Cannes.

Three people were killed when a river burst its banks and water engulfed a retirement home at Biot near Antibes late on Saturday, and three drowned when their car was trapped by rising waters in a tunnel at Vallauris-Golfe-Juan.
